Teach Them Diligently

Many times when parents think of teaching, they think that teaching is reserved for teachers in schools. Many parents think they cannot teach their children anything. Believe it or not, we teach our children more than we realize, and sometimes it is not even in what we say. Regardless with what we as parents think about who should be teaching our children, we must realize and accept that God has called us to teach our children. If God has blessed us with the gift of children, then we need to take an active role in fulfilling our God-given responsibility.

The Armor of God

One night not too long ago we felt led to have a Bible study on the Armor of God. We created these figures with Noah and Eden and they absolutely loved it! They had a personal connection by doing this and because of that they were able to memorize the different pieces of the armor of God as well as discuss why we need each one!

Godly Training Is Not An Option

In The Brown household, training to implement Godly character in our lives is a daily task. Many people consider this a good option, some may not follow this type of character at all, however for us it is a necessity and a way of life. We as parents strive to teach, disciple, and train our children in the way they should go. We don't claim to be perfect and we have made many mistakes, however we do make every effort to live by a few scriptures in growing in the LORD together. In this post we will share some of the scriptures we live by as Christian parents.

Training Our Children's Hearts

Proverbs 4:23 states, "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." We must remember this scripture when we are raising our children. This scripture provides the ultimate truth with respect to the issues we experience within ourselves, in relationships, in families, in communities, and ultimately within the world. If there are issues, then we can rest assured they result from the heart. Knowing and remembering this during times when we experience problems with our children can help us address the problem better and more effectively although not always easily.

The Source of Life's Issues

There are many issues in this life that we experience. Some people experience financial problems, some people experience broken relationships, some people experience the loss of prized personal possessions, and more often than before it seems people lose someone they love dearly, to death. Whatever the issues we experience, there is a source of those issues and most people woudn't even think of the source the Bible talks about being the utlimate source of trouble in this world. There is one verse though that makes it very clear to anyone where the issues of life come from.
